A native
Californian and the youngest of four, David Findley
was 9 years old in 1967 when he decided to play trumpet to
avoid combat duty in VietNam.
At the age
of 15 he was expelled from high school band only
to learn bass and join a local rock band. All his gear was stolen after
an all night party which led him back to his trumpet and to further his
studies in jazz performance in Arizona, Idaho, California, Oklahoma and
Tennessee.
Performing
live and in studios throughout the 70s, 80s and
90s, David developed his style and concept by mixing with
the best musicians and producers availiable, while holding
down some sort of day gig. He has written and played on numerous jingles,
albums, live shows and television; some
of which he is very proud of.
Today, David
continues to innovate with the Storm Kings
playing trumpet, keys and EVI. My goal is to create visual
music that springs from the back of your brain and unfolds to
a wide array of texture, color and sound, in hopes of
transporting the listener to another plain, David was quoted
to say after a recent automobile accident.
